During the week of September 20-27, 2019, voices around the world spoke up. A record of 7.6 million people marched around the globe to advocate for climate action.
On September 27, 2019, a climate strike was held in Antigua. Close to the downtown hub, groups of school children and adults gathered to advocate for the planet. The Marma J Foundation attended and showed support for the many groups who came out to advocate for the climate.
According to the Antigua Observer, Antigua and Barbuda was the first registered participant in the Global Climate Strike from the Caribbean. This act demonstrated that here in Antigua and Barbuda, we are aware and do want to change our actions. The clock is ticking. We must act now.
