Whether this is your first time using NEAR‘s Astro DAO or you just need a refresher, this guide will provide a step-by-step overview of how to submit a payout proposal to the Astro DAO.
Getting Started
Before you submit a payout proposal, there are some important things you need to do beforehand. For starters, you must have a NEAR wallet. If you are new to the NEAR ecosystem, you can easily get started by checking out this helpful guide.

Below, you’ll find 5 easy steps detailing how to submit your payout proposal.
Step 1
Navigate to the Marma J DAO on Astro and sign in by clicking the “Sign In” button on the top right-hand corner. You will then be prompted to approve the login on a different screen. Make sure your pop-up blocker is deactivated for this site.
Step 2
After you log in, click on “Proposals” to create a draft proposal.
Step 3
Click on the green “+” and then choose “Draft Proposal”.
Step 4
Add the following info:
- Proposal Type: Have a look at the different options. To simply request a payout, choose “Propose a Transfer”
- Add a Draft Name: A title/subject of your proposal
- Describe your draft: a short description of your proposal/project, the month of the funding, or the Hackathon submission for example. Make sure to add an external link or forum link related to the work you have done or would like to submit.
- Amount: add the amount which has been confirmed in your forum proposal
- Token: switch from NEAR to $marmaj as you receive the payout in $marmaj tokens
- Target: this is the receiver of the funds. Fill in the receiver’s nearname, which you have also mentioned in your funding proposal. If you are supposed to receive the reward, add your nearname
- Click on “Save” to submit your draft
Step 5
The draft proposal is now visible and can still be adjusted and commented on if needed. Once the draft has been converted into a proposal by the council of the Marma J DAO, the remaining council will vote on it and the transfer will take place.
