NEARCON 2022 will be held from September 11-14th in Lisbon, Portugal. For this year’s conference, the Marma J Foundation’s goal is to “Hack For Social Good” by leveraging Web3- specifically, NEAR Protocol. To do this, the Marma J Foundation will host our first-ever Hacker House.

The marmaj DAO to work to define what “social good” means
We will be answering questions such as:
- What projects and causes need our attention?
- What kind of support can we provide?
- How do we track and measure the support being provided?
The Marma J & NEAR Communities to work on practical solutions for social good challenges using NEAR technology
With a focus and education on the fact that NFTs can be redeemed for physical goods in Lisbon, we will be hacking how we can provide social support to local marginalized communities with physical support such as hygiene products, outdoor living equipment, warm meals, and more.
The marmaj DAO to create sustainable solutions and projects
Our goal is to create sustainable projects and solutions and projects that the marmaj DAO will support in the coming year. We also hope to source potential challenges for the Marma J Hackathon in January 2023 in Antigua and Barbuda.
The Marma J Foundation to connect locals to Web3
The marmaj DAO members who are participating in the 2022 Hacker House will be connecting Web3 with local communities by passing out “marmaj Trading Cards” to the places we visit such as downtown Lisbon, at various beaches, in Sintra, across the ferry, and more.

For NEARCON 2022, the marmaj Hacker House is open to the Marma J Foundation’s council and advisors. To participate in the marmaj Hacker House, council members and advisors must be approved as a NEARCON Hacker.
