It’s Time To Introduce The Marma J Community!

Let’s give a warm welcome to Ashley, the Director of Lore!

As an enthusiastic creative writer, a maestro of rhythms within sentences, and a student of ancient history with a focus on mythology; it was predestined that she would develop the lore for the MarmaJ Foundation. Lore usually refers to several stories centred around a theme or persona or even a collection of tales related to a specific group. In our case, the lore will be created around the concept of MarmaJchan. In case that name doesn’t ring a bell, have a look here & see all the amazing chan NFTs that have been created by the community and collected by the DAO

What I love about our use of the word ‘lore’ is its implied flexibility. The stories we create about MarmaJchan aren’t part of history or biography. Those genres would be limiting. Lore as a genre allows for competing stories and timelines. Each person who submits a story about MarmaJchan is free to place her in any geography and in any time period. She can be depicted as a superhero, an athlete, an artist – all variations on her character are equally true “Ashley’s statement about the MarmaJchan Lore.

When asked how she got into working with the foundation, Ashley mentioned that she had no previous experience with crypto or Web3. Knowing Chloe and Rebecca from high school and following Chloe’s path in Web3 over the years through social media made both of them connect again. “[Chloe] and her partner Bianca radiated such positive energy within their videos highlighting their work in Antigua with schools and animal rescue. Although I had no background in any aspect of Web3, I jumped at the chance to become involved in what they do.”

A beautiful example of how digital connections can strengthen the bond in the physical world. The MarmaJ Foundation allows people easy access to Web3 and its tools simply by letting them pursue what they are good at and enjoy doing. Up to now, Ashley has learned about Blockchain, NFTs and decentralization – and watched plenty of people writing code to learn (if this isn’t commitment, I don’t know what is). She appreciates the way Web3 allows worldwide collaborations, collaborative learning, and doing good at the same time.

What’s Next?

Learning, writing and making the lore grow! Ashley has also recently joined the Writer’s Guild, worked on an open call, and already wrote a story to spread the values of the foundation. Have a look here!

More creative writers can participate in the production of community lore by writing their stories about MarmaJchan and her adventures.

These stories will need to feature MarmaJchan demonstrating the values of our community: love and positivity. Once we have a growing corpus of stories, I believe that they will be used as inspiration for digital art. I hope to see animations, comic strips, and digital cards inspired by our lore.“ So do we!

If you are a writer and would like to participate, you can submit your entry here.

Ashley is collecting…(guess)…ROCKS!

She has an enormous collection, which overall weighs a solid 200 pounds. The rocks are chosen on random beaches by their colours or luminosity; some even contain fossils or belong to the mysterious family of hag stones.
