You just finished writing an awesome proposal to the Marma J DAO, and now it’s time to submit a payout proposal! Whether this is your first time using NEAR‘s Sputnik v2 Beta or you just need a refresher, this guide will provide a step-by-step overview of how to submit a payout proposal to the Sputnik DAO.

Getting Started

Before you submit a payout proposal, there are some important things you need to do beforehand. For starters, you must have a NEAR wallet. If you are new to the NEAR ecosystem, you can easily get started by checking out this helpful guide. Next, you’ll want to head over to the Marma J Foundation category on the NEAR Forum where you will find helpful topics, previously submitted proposals, and other posts related to the Marma J DAO.

The NEAR Forum is where you will post your proposal about how you wish to contribute to the community. This guide details how to submit a proposal to the forum. Once your proposal is submitted to the forum, the Marma J DAO Council Members will respond on the forum providing you with feedback. When your proposal is approved, you will receive written confirmation as well as notice that your proposal title has been changed to [APPROVED]. Only then should you proceeded to submit a payout proposal on Sputnik v2 Beta. Below, you’ll find 8 easy steps detailing how to submit your payout proposal.

Step 1 

Navigate to the Marma J DAO on Sputnik v2 Beta and sign in by clicking the “Sign In” button on the top right-hand corner. You will then be prompted to approve the login on a different screen.

Step 2

After you log in, click “add new proposal”.

Then choose “payout”.

Step 3

In the first field, “Enter Receiver Account”, input your NEAR name (for example, john.near).

Step 4

In the second field, you’ll enter a short description of your proposal to indicate what the payout proposal is for. After you write your short description, you will also need to include the URL to your approved post on the NEAR forum. Please note that only [APPROVED] forum proposals are eligible to receive payouts, and this link must be included in this step.

Step 5

Use the dropdown menu for “Pay With” to select “Fungible Token”.

Step 6

In the Fungible Token Address field, enter “marmaj.tkn.near”.

Step 7

“Enter amount” will be the amount of $marmaj tokens that are being requested for the payout proposal. The maximum amount of $marmaj tokens a community member can request for a proposal is 21.19; however, the amount for payouts is usually set through bounties or an agreed-upon amount under a forum proposal.

Step 8

Finally, click “SUBMIT” to complete the transaction! To use Sputnik v2 Beta, a bond of 1 NEAR will be needed to successfully complete the proposal. This is set in order to deter spam submissions to the DAO. Once your proposal is approved by the Marma J DAO Council Members, you will receive your bond back to your NEAR wallet.
